More support from Canada Council is needed for Canadian publishers to survive

Support for the Canadian writing and publishing community has been a cornerstone of the Canada Council for the Arts’ mission since it was founded 63 years ago. But while genre fiction, short stories and poetry have continued to be bolstered by the Canada Council, their support of non-fiction has been downgraded.
