Robert Ballantyne was born and raised in Smiths Falls, Ontario. He attended the University of British Columbia where he attained a BA in English Literature and an MA in Art History. He joined Arsenal Pulp Press in 1996 and has been Vice-President/Associate Publisher since 2004. He is also a past president of the Association of Book Publishers of British Columbia.
